This 21 foot vee bottom performance hull is capable of very competitive performance when powered with normally aspirated small blocks and is still a very capable performer fitted with blown engines and fuel injected big blocks.
Designed for waterski racing the Childsplay IDV is often faster when actually towing water skiers. Turning, either left or right, even under acceleration is smooth and controlled due to the unique handling features incorporated into this ski boats design.
Water ski racers are able to option in many extras such as built in ballast tanks, race seats and many other ski race options such as skeg braces, custom tow points, race number board mounts etc.
As a social water ski boat optional extras can be included such as full engine hatches, rear lounges, flooring and more.
The IDV 21' is a vee drive rear mount and customers usually select either an Argo Vee drive or a Haynes vee drive gearbox.
Due to the performance capabilities of the IDV, underwater skegs and rudder are steel for strength and safety. The same skeg, rudder and fin material used in our 18’ and 21’ Shallow V circuit boats is used in the IDV21'. Additionally the selection of a high performance propeller and propeller shaft material is recommended, dependant on engine size and planned performance.
All aluminum fittings and fixtures such as cavitation gear, skeg mounts and braces, gear box mounts, seat mounts, steering etc are manufactured to order and may be customised and anodized or powder coated to suit your specific application.
Trailers for the entire Childsplay Marine range of ski and race boats are custom manufactured in-house to suit each boat. Custom building our own boat trailers ensures the boat remains flat and level even when towing. Childsplay Marine boat trailers are fitted with fiberglass wheel guards which may be color coded to your boat. Decks front and rear of the wheel guards are included to aid in entering or exiting our boats when on the trailer. Our boat trailers are also decked in for ease of walking on when launching or retrieving the boat. Boat trailer frames are hot galvanised, fitted with submersible lights, brakes and fully registered.
